An award-winning composer and performer, Randy has appeared across Canada and the U.S. as a musician, writer and comic.
Currently Randy tours with his 2 musical shows, BOARDWALK! The Doo Wop Show and THE ROCKY ROAD TO DUBLIN, a celebration of Irish music and humor.
The son of award-winning author A. Lawrence Vaincourt, Randy created a stage musical based on his father's books. BORN LUCKY premiered to rave reviews in July 2008 and continues to tour. Show schedules are available here.
His other original stage musicals include FOREVER FOR NOW (Muskoka Festival), THE CHRISTMAS SHOW (Winter Garden Theatre), DEAD AIR, which enjoyed a 10-month run at Toronto's Mysteriously Yours Theatre, and with David Gale, the award-winning comedy CHUTZPAH à GO-GO, which ran for over 4 years in Canada and had its U.S. premiere in February 2009.
His television work includes writing songs for DUDLEY THE DRAGON (PBS/YTV), HELLO MRS. CHERRYWINKLE (PBS/Family Channel), ROCKABYE BUBBLE (TVO) and three LOVING SPOONFULS TV specials. He wrote and performed the theme songs for À LA POURSUITE DE CARMEN SANDIEGO (Radio Canada), OUR MAGAZINE and YTV's DON'T LICK THE PIG.
He has been Musical Director for over 100 stage productions ranging from the SECOND CITY TOURING COMPANY to the Canadian premiere of THE BRADY BUNCH LIVE. He is one-half of the Original Canadian DUELING PIANOS show, which has been touring extensively for the past 14 years, and he is also one of the co-creators of RADIO FREAKS, who were heard nationally on Canadian radio for 3 years.
Randy's comedy song DONOR CARD enjoyed wide airplay, appearing on the syndicated Dr. Demento radio show.
